Besides creating a voice for yourself to aid in future political endeavours, are there any other reasons to start a newspaper? Is there profit in it? Gaining exposure is the only bonus I can find, but being pretty much a noob, I thought maybe some more experienced eRep minds might be able to shine more light on this subject for me.

There's the media mogul award, but you need 1000 subscribers to get it... I'm not going to start a paper and just save the 5 gold...

wise choice in saving that gold you'll need it in future if you wish to run for congress.

Running for Congress is free. If you win the congress elections you get 5 GOLD. Its the Party President Elections that you loose on. To Candidate for Party President it costs 2 GOLD, and winning you don't get money reward.
